Two Titles

School holidays are a good chance for me to catch up on all of our news. Term One is crazy for me at work, so shows provide me with the perfect outlet. And the success our show team has been having is icing on the cake.

Liina continued her success throughout February and March. She won all five Junior in Groups she competed for, converting the most recent one to Best Junior in Show. This means she is the Number One Rising Star Finnish Lapphund in Australia. The Rising Star award is for dogs under 18 months. Unfortunately, she will cease to be eligible in a month's time, but the commanding lead she has might get her through to the end of the year. Fingers crossed! Liina has also been having considerable success, for a girl her age, in the Group Ring. She is regularly shortlisted for the group placements and has taken another Best in Group 3rd. The biggest highlight came on February 20 when Liina received the final points she needed for her Australian Champion title. She is now known as: Ch. Armahani Moonstone Movtta (AI).

Here in Tasmania we do not have Neuter class on offer at every show, so it makes it even more fantastic how quickly Fleur has achieved her Neuter Champion title. She is now: Ch. Neut. Ch. Armahani Iolite Ilo (AI) HT, doing it in style taking two Best Neuter in Show (BIS1) awards on the day she received her final points. Fleur has been unbeaten for Best Neuter in Group so far this year.

Fleur actually belongs to my 8-year-old daughter, who has recently decided she would like to show. So Fleur is now Lillian's show dog. Together they have taken three Best Neuter in Groups and at the most recent show, converted it to Runner-up Best Neuter in Show (BNIS2). They make the most gorgeous team!

Theo (Zuleika Le Bombe) only comes to our local shows, as he lives with my neighbours. But he is really starting to get the hang of showing. This has resulted in him taking some Best of Breed (BOB) awards over Liina, being shortlisted for Best in Group placements and classes in group. I am really happy with how he is maturing and having just turned 18 months I know his best is in front of him.
